World Vegetarian Day. 1st October 2014.

World Vegetarian Day was established for annual celebration to advertise the joy, compassion and life-enhancing possibilities of vegetarianism. The day was originated through the North American Vegetarian Contemporary society in 1977 and endorsed through the International Vegetarian Union inside 1978. October 1st will be the official date, however if necessary, individuals may schedule their event on a nearby date instead.

World Vegetarian Day, October 1, is the annual kick-off of Vegetarian Awareness Month. Make a difference this October by informing others about the benefits of vegetarianism. You will be helping to create a better world because vegetarian diets have proven health benefits, save animals’ lives and help to preserve the Earth.

It’s easy to get involved. Display the colorful, informative poster in your community (Download Here). You can post it at a local store, office, coffee shop, library, school or other suitable location. Use it as a great way to start a discussion about the benefits of vegetarianism with the people in your life.
